"Schnittmuskel" the post-apocalypse with giant wings

Denise Müller aus Karlsruhe ist der kreative Kopf bei „Schnittmuskel“. Die Designs der gebürtigen Zürcherin finden sich sogar in den Outfits einiger bekannter Bands wieder, die Denise für ihre stilsicheren Kreationen schätzen. Dark Fashion und Industrial – made in Germany – sind neben Phantasie und Herzblut nur einige Schlagwörter, für die „Schnittmuskel“ steht.
Die Designerin liebt Ruhe und startet in jeden neuen Tag mit Yoga, wobei ihre Katzen immer mit von der Partie sind. Ausflüge in die Berge, Wandern fernab von Lärm und ganz für sich sein, das sind ihre Leidenschaften. Hier schöpft sie Energie und Inspiration für neue Designs.

Wir werden staunen.
Das Hauptthema ist die „Postapokalypse“ in all ihren Facetten. Ein solch weitreichendes Thema, das immer wieder neue Inspiration liefert. Denise lässt sich aber auch oft von Material inspirieren, welches nicht immer nur textilen Ursprungs sein muss. Zweckentfremdung von Materie, die eigentlich zu einem anderen Zweck gedacht ist, dient der Neuerfindung. Das Spielen mit Mode, die Neuentwicklung von Designs, die man auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise tragen kann, je nachdem, wonach einem gerade ist – das ist das Spannende.
Asynchron, postapokalyptisch, stark – so kann man „Schnittmuskel“ in drei Worten beschreiben. Besonders stolz ist Denise auf ihre Jacken „Destroyed“ in Unikatform, ihre Accessoires und Schmuckstücke aus Bondageseil. Trotzdem ist auch alles im Alltag tragbar und lässt sich mit „Alltagskleidung“ kombinieren, motiviert mich Denise. So würde ich jetzt sehr gern den Harness „Swart vlieg“ aus der romantischen Serie „Puderblond“ in Puccinis „Turandot“ in Verona anziehen.
Avantgardista 2018 – Schnittmuskel ist dabei.
Das Konzept der Avantgardista ist spannend, denn es wird nicht nur einen Stil von Mode geben sondern viel Facettenreichtum, so die Designerin. „Schnittmuskel“ passt mit ihrem Look großartig dazu und somit war klar, dass die gelernte Kostümplastikerin uns mit ihren kreativen Kreationen verzaubern will. Wie „Schnittmuskel“ bei den Zuschauern ankommen wird, darauf ist die Schweizerin gespannt.
Das Publikum darf einer ausgefallenen Show entgegenfiebern, bei der im Anschluss eingeladen wird zum Stöbern, Staunen und Shoppen. „Ich werde neben meiner Kollektion, die es schon online zu kaufen gibt, auch viele Einzelstücke mit dabeihaben“, so Denise.
Von der Maskenbildnerin zur Fashion Designerin
Denise Müller ist gelernte Maskenbildnerin, wobei sie immer nur auf das gestalterische Arbeiten am Kopf beschränkt war, was sie nicht ganz erfüllt hat. Kurzum hat sie dann ihr Know-How auf den ganzen Körper ausgeweitet. Zu ihrem breitgefächerten Werdegang gehört auch eine zwölfjährige Karriere in der Fertigung von Animatronics (mechanisch bewegliche Figuren). Hier habe sie sehr viel über plastisches Arbeiten am Körper gelernt.
Besonders kann sie ihr Faible als Kostümplastikerin in ihrem zweiten Projekt „Arthemiswings“ ausleben. Hier hat sich die Künstlerin auf den Bau von großen Flügeln spezialisiert. „Ich werde das in die Fashion Show mit einfliessen lassen“, verrät sie schon mal und macht mich noch neugieriger auf ihren Auftritt in München. Darf ich auch auf eine Installation mit Flügeln wie „Victorias Angels“ hoffen, aber das ganze etwas düster?! Irgendwie bin ich getriggert. „Mindfuck-Filme“ und Schokolade
„Memento“, „The Butterfly Effekt“, „Stay“ und „Shutter Island“ – bei diesen „Mindfuck“-Filmen lehnt sich Denise abends zurück und das am liebsten mit Schokolade. Die Mystik der Filme spiegelt sich auch in ihrer Mode wieder.
Ihr Mann ist ihr sehr wichtig, ebenso wie die schon erwähnte Liebe zu ihren Katzen. Natürlich würde sie auch als eine solche wiedergeboren werden wollen. Katzen haben so viel Ruhe in sich und einen wunderbaren entspannten Schlaf. Viel Zeit verbringt die Designerin zudem in ihrem Atelier und ihr „Ich“ zehn Jahre in der Zukunft würde ihrem heutigen „Ich“ wohl raten: „Pass auf deine Hände auf.“

Dark Fashion and Industrial are just two buzzwords alongside with imagination and passion – made in Germany – that summarise „Schnittmuskel“.
The designer loves peace and quiet and starts every new day with yoga, whereby her cats are always with her. Excursions in the mountains, hiking far away from noise and being completely for herself, these are her passions. Here, she finds energy and inspiration for new designs.

We will be amazed.
The main theme is „post-apocalypse“, in all its facets… this is such a far-reaching theme and always provides inspiration. Denise is also often inspired by materials that do not always have a textile origin. The misappropriation of matter, which is actually intended for another purpose, serves the new reinvention. Playing with fashion – the new development of designs that you can wear in different ways, depending on what you want to wear – that’s what’s exciting.
Asymmetrical, post-apocalyptic, strong – this is how you can describe „Schnittmuskel“ in three words. Denise is particularly proud of her unique „Destroyed“ jackets, her accessories and jewellery made of bondage rope. Nevertheless, everything is wearable in everyday life and can be combined with „everyday clothes“, Denise motivates me. So I would love to wear the Harness „Swart vlieg“ from the romantic series „Puderblond“ in Puccini’s „Turandot“ in Verona. How amazing does that already sound.
Avantgardista 2018 – „Schnittmuskel“ is there at the scene
The concept of the Avantgardista is exciting, because there will not only be one style of fashion but a great variety, according to the designer. „Schnittmuskel“ fits perfectly with their look and so it was clear that the trained costume sculptor wanted to enchant us with her creative creations. How will „Schnittmuskel“ be received by the spectators, that is what the swiss women is curious about.
The audience can look forward to an unusual show at which they are invited to browse, wonder and shop. „In addition to my collection, which is already available online, I will also have many unique items with me,“ says Denise.
From make-up artist to fashion designer
Denise Müller is a qualified make-up artist, whereby she was only ever limited to work on the head, which was not quite fulfilling for her. In short, she then expanded her know-how to the whole body. Her broad career also includes a twelve-year work experience in the production of animatronics (mechanically moving figures). Here she learned a lot about sculptural work on the body.
In her second project „Arthemiswings“ she is able to live out her passion as a costume sculptor. Here, the artist has specialized in the construction of large wings. „I will incorporate this into the Fashion show“, she reveals and makes me already curious about her performance in Munich. May I hope for an installation with wings like „Victorias Angels“, but the whole thing a bit more sinister? Somehow I’m triggered. „Mindfuck“ movies and chocolate
„Memento“, „the Butterfly Effect“, „Stay“ and „Shutter Island“ – with these „mindfuck“ films Denise leans back in the evening, preferably with chocolate. The mysticism of the movies is probably also reflected in her fashion.
Her husband is very important to her as well, as is the already mentioned love for her cats. Of course, she would also want to be reborn as one. Cats have so much rest in them and a wonderful, relaxed sleep. The designer spends a lot of time in her studio, too, and her „I“ ten years in the future would probably advise her current „I“: „Watch your hands.“
